873,761. Snap-action switches; retractive switches. BROOKHIRST SWITCHGEAR Ltd. Nov. 3, 1959 [Nov. 20, 1958], No. 37327/58. Class 38 (5). A switch that may be used for example as an auxiliary switch in electric contactor gear or as a limit switch in electrically-operated machine tools, comprises a contact member 16 moving between pairs of fixed contacts 12, 13 and 14, 15. Two helical springs 24, 25 are compressed between lugs 19, 20 on the contactmember 16 and lugs 22, 23 on an operating push-button member 21, to provide a deadcentre toggle action. A retractive spring 26 may be omitted and the operating bar 21 extended through the switch. The bar 21 and its lugs 24, 25 may be made of nylon.
