898,039. Packages. EVERETT & CO. Ltd., S. & R. J. Sept. 20, 1960 [Oct. 16, 1959], No. 35125/59. Class 94(1). A package for hypodermic needles comprises package units 5, each containing a needle 6, joined together at one end by a bridge 7, and attached to an enclosing folder 4. The package may be formed by placing the needles between two sheets of a gas permeable, bacteria resistant plastic film, heat-sealing around the needles, and partially separating by cuts the package units so formed. The package is sterilized by exhausting air through the film and replacing it by a sterilizing gas. As shown in Fig. 1, the two sets of units 1, 2 are secured to the folder 4, in staggered arrangement, by staples 8. Individual units may be torn off as required.
