870,692. Packaging sample tablets. HAMAC A. G. June 23, 1959 [Feb. 26, 1959], No. 21466/59. Class 94(1). A package in the form of a booklet, comprises a pair of cover sheets 10, 11, Figs. 1 and 2, enclosing near one end some sample tablets 14 between two transparent sheets of material, one or both of the cover sheets having viewing apertures 12 aligned with the tablets. The four sheets are sealed together about the tablets. One end of the booklet may be folded over, as shown by the arrows in Fig. 2, to protect the tablets during transport. Alternatively. the tablets may be protected by punching projections in the booklet in the vicinity of the tablets. In Fig. 6 a roll of material 20 is cut to provide two cover sheets 22, 23 in which viewing apertures are punched by dies 24, 25. The sheets 22, 23 and two transparent sheets 28, 29, then pass through pocketed heat sealing rollers 26, 27, between which the tablets. are received from a hopper 33 controlled by a reciprocating gate 34. A knife 35 cuts off the finished booklets. In a modified machine the sheets 22, 23 are supplied from separate rollers, the sheets being pre-apertured and passing over sprocket wheels having projections corresponding to the holes in the sheets 22, 23, the sprocket wheels being geared to the heat sealing rollers 26, 27.
