A package for sterilization of medical devices, with a thermo-time indicator of the quality of sterilization, relates to the field of packaging and sterilization of medical instruments and materials using steam (water saturated steam under overpressure) and air (dry hot air) methods.

Currently, these sterilization methods are most widely used in laboratory practice.

Sterilization with dry hot air is carried out in air sterilizers for 60 minutes-2g2 hours at 180 ° - 160 °.

Steam sterilization under overpressure is the most reliable way, because with a single treatment of the material, not only vegetative mince of bacteria is destroyed, but also their spores. It is carried out in steam sterilizers under a pressure of 2-1 atmosphere, which corresponds to i. 132 ° - 120 °.

The quality control of sterilization can be carried out in several ways - physical (observation and fine adjustment of instrumentation), chemical (using indicators), and bacteriological.

Before sterilization, medical instruments and materials are placed in sterilization boxes or in soft packaging made of calico, parchment, bag paper. It is permissible to sterilize instruments without packaging.

Soft packs used in medical institutions have a common drawback - the inconvenience of laying and transporting medical instruments. Such packages may open and their sterility is impaired.

The proposed package for sterilization of medical devices with a thermo-time indicator of the quality of sterilization ensures the speed of packaging of instruments, the convenience of their storage and transportation, a clear designation of the instrument packaged in each individual package, the ability to use packages of various volumes depending on the quantity and purpose of the instrument and material to be sterilized, reliable quality control sterilization.

Hermetic packaging of the bag makes it possible to use sterile instruments not only in hospitals, but also beyond. Tools and materials, being in packages, retain their sterility for 3 days.

The bag for sterilization is a single-layer rectangular envelope made of paper impregnated / GOST 2228-81 / or paper for packaging products on machines of the brand Ј / GOST 7247-73 /.

Sterilized bags are made of various sizes depending on the type of sterilized products (needles, syringes, dressings) with glued seams with a width of at least 10 mm. Sizing of joints is carried out with 10% glue from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA glue) or $ 5 with starch glue. The bags glued with PVA glue are used for sterilization with both dry hot air and saturated water vapor under excessive pressure. Packages glued with $ 5 starch glue are used only for sterilization of products with dry hot air.

- a place for recording the name and number of products to be sterilized;

On the back of the package is indicated:

-indicator and standard (Fig. 2).

Sterilization packages are disposable; after the indicator is triggered, they cannot be reused.

Suppose the release of stershasation packages without an indicator, because according to existing requirements, at least 5 indicators must be placed in different points of the chamber in sterilization chambers, 7 indicators must be placed in sterilization chambers with volumes from 100 to 750 dm3. In case of operation of all indicators embedded in the chamber, the products are considered sterile.

In addition, packages without an indicator can be used if other sterilization quality control methods are available in hospitals.

In the case of the release of sterilization packages without an indicator, there is no indicator and standard and instructions for their use on their back side.
