Abstract
897,660. Metal-working presses. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. Nov. 20, 1958 [Nov. 27, 1957], No. 36923/57. Class 83 (4). Apparatus for controlling ancillary equipment, such as feed mechanism, ejectors or lubrication devices, on a power press or other machine-tool, comprises a shaft 11 driven from the machine and having mounted thereon a plurality of assemblies of cams or the like 19, 20 each assembly controlling one item of ancillary equipment and being rotatably adjustable on the shaft. The latter is driven by a chain 14, Fig. 2 (not shown), from the press crank-shaft and carries barrels 15 secured thereto by pins 16. To each end of each barrel is secured a pair of disc cams 19, 20 with an interposed shim washer 21, Fig. 3 (not shown), adjustably clamped in position by a nut 26. An index scale 28 is used for the cam adjustment. The cams engage followers 29 on arms 30, Fig. 2 (not shown) which actuate electric switches or relays controlling the ancillary equipment.
