897,054. Valves. BUDD W. E. Oct. 6, 1958 [Oct. 9, 1957], No. 31608/57. Class 135. A valve structure of the kind comprising a valve body 10 having a seat 33 between an inlet 11 and outlet 12, a valve member 23, 31 carried on a rod 24 which projects out of the body, a pair of abutments 47, 40 fixed respectively with respect to the valve rod and the valve body and a handle 41 freely engaging the valve rod and sandwiched between the two abutments so as to be tiltable to engage both the abutments and thereby lift the valve member from the valve seat, is characterized in that the valve rod is provided with diametrically opposed flats 49 between the abutments, these flats being engaged with clearance by the sides 50 of a longitudinal slot 48 in a flat portion of the handle between the abutments. As shown. the body comprises two cylindrical portions 13. 14 interfitting at right angles with an inserted seat member 21.
