Abstract

1,217,554. Valves. A. G. SVARD. 23 April, 1968 [24 April, 1967], No. 19023/68. Heading F2V. A non-return valve 1, comprises a cylindrical housing 2 having formed at its ends non- aligned inlet and outlet ports 5 and 3 respectively, and a spherical valve member 8 which, in response to the differences in pressure at the inlet and outlet lines 6 and 4 respectively, moves along a guide structure 9 into or out of engagement with a valve seat 7 formed around the inlet port 5, the guide structure being constituted by three parallel guide ribs 9. The response of the valve member 8 to the above mentioned pressure difference, may be varied by altering the guide structure such that it slopes towards the inlet, or has its central portion disposed above or below its end portions, or by tilting the housing (Figs. 3-6, not shown). The guide structure may also be made adjustable by set screws or by hydraulic or pneumatic means.
