Abstract

1335024 Meshing screw compressors HOWDEN GODFREY Ltd 30 Dec 1970 [31 Dec 1969] 63541/69 Heading F1F An air screw compressor 2 has an inlet 6 and an outlet controlled by a valve arrangement 3 which is controlled to maintain a predetermined discharge pressure by a double acting piston 4 connected to move the valve 3 and wherein the cylinder 5 has one side 7 connected to the discharge pressure and the other side provided with a spring 8 and connected to the inlet 6 which may be at atmospheric pressure, by a line 9. The arrangement is such that the inlet pressure plus the spring 8 balance the predetermined outlet pressure but should this change the piston 4 will move thus adjusting the valve 3 to restore the predetermined pressure.
