896,872. Vehicle power steering. HYDROSTEER Ltd. Aug. 6, 1958 [Aug. 7, 1957], No. 24958/57. Class 79(5). In a power steering servo control valve 11, Fig. 1, biased to its neutral position by hydraulic pressure derived from the supply line 8 in which the biasing pressure is limited by a relief valve 21, Fig. 2, incorporated in the body 7 of the control valve, the supply pressure is connected to the biasing chamber 17 through a central passage 9 in the valve piston 11 which has a restriction 24, Fig. 3, in the branch passage 16 leading into the chamber 17 and serving to reduce the rate of flow of biasing pressure fluid. The biasing chamber 17 is connected to the chamber 18 of the relief valve 21 which is loaded by a spring 22, the loading of which may be varied by a screw (not shown) operable from outside the casing and engaging the valve body 19.
