896,287. Finishing fabric; calenders. KLEINEWEFERS, P., [trading as KLEINEWEFERS SOHNE MASCHINENFABRIK JOH.]. March 25, 1960 [May 23, 1959], No. 10620/60. Class 42 (1). In a textile calender having at least two bowls connected together by gearing, at least one of the bowls is connected to the gearing by a universal joint shaft. The calender shown has an upper steel bowl 2, an intermediate elastic bowl 3 and a lower steel bowl 4. The bowl 2 is driven by motor 9 through variable gear 10 and gear 11, the other two bowls being driven through gearing in casing 12. The bowls are connected to the drive-shafts by universal joint shafts 13.
