Abstract

895,964. Agricultural implements. BOMFORD, D. R. Aug. 12, 1959 [May 22, 1958], No. 16526/58. Class 6(1). A reversible plough wherein oppositely handed plough shares are secured to a structure rotatable about a fore and aft axis between two limiting positions on a support which is raised and lowered by a hydraulic lifting mechanism is characterised in that movement of the support results in rotational movement of the rotatable structure sufficient to move it from one limiting position upwardly and beyond dead centre position whereafter its movement towards the other limiting position may take place under gravity. As shown in Fig. 1 a lever 14 is pivoted on the rotatable structure 12 and is connected by a chain 18 to a fixed point, the lever having a pin and slot connection with a link 26 pivoted to a latch 13 pivotally mounted on the structure 12 and engageable with one of two stops 23, 24 at opposite limits of rotational movement of the structure. In a modification the link 26 is omitted. In a further modification the chain is replaced by a collapsible strut or a telescopic strut. Specification 895,965 is referred to.
