Abstract

895,573. Tube connectors; indicating leakages. PIRELLI, S.p.A. Feb. 24, 1961 [March 17, 1960], No. 6956/61. Classes 99(1) and 99(2). Sealing means between a high-pressure flexible tube and a rigid hollow connector 2 comprises a rubber or like sleeve 7 formed from a portion of the inner layer 4 of the tube and folded about the face end of the connector, and a series of rings made up of at least two sealing rings 8 of rubber and a metal ring 9 interposed between the rings 8. As shown, a head part 3 of the connector screwed on to the part 2 is provided with a number of radial holes 11 which communicate with a duct 12; fluid issuing from the holes indicates leakage of fluid passed the sealing rings.
