Abstract

895,496. Stretch-bending. CYRIL BATH CO. June 7, 1960, No. 20024/60. Class 83 (4). A machine for stretch forming a length of stock about a die mounted on a rotary table includes means for securing one end of the length of stock to the die and the other end to a head on an arm pivoted to a carriage yieldably urged away from the table so as to place the stock under tension. One end of a length S of stock is clamped at C to a side face die D mounted on a table 2 rotated by rack and pinion means 10, 8 driven by hydraulic piston and cylinder means 11. The other end of the stock S is held in a gripper head 21 on an arm 17 pivoted at 18 to a carriage 15 yieldably urged away from the table 2 along guides 16 by a piston rod 26 of hydraulic means 23. A wipe shoe E is urged on to the stock S, as it wraps around the die D, by hydraulic means 5 on a plate 34 rocked about a pivot 35 on a base 30 by hydraulic means 36. Specification 730,675 and U.S.A.
