Abstract

894,987. Transformers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 29, 1959 [Feb. 1, 1958], No. 3211/59. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XL (c)] A 40 Mc/s. transformer comprises two single. turn coils 2, 14 of copper strip secured to each other by insulators 18 and to a base by insulators 19. A conjoint insulating control-spindle 15 varies the effective inductance of the coils in opposite senses by the rotation of radial arms 16, 17, respectively provided with spring-loaded contact pins 33, 34, respectively, to afford coil tappings. The arms 16, 17 are connected each to one of the input and output leads 36, 37, respectively; by fixed plates 25, 26, respectively, bearing spring-loaded contact-pins such as 35- bearing on the sleeves 23, 24, by which the arms 16, 17 are attached to the spindle 15.
