Abstract
The invention comprises dithiophosphonic esters of formula <FORM:0894740/IV (b)/1> where R and R1 are C1-4 alkyl, and R2 is C1-6 alkyl, cycloalkyl or a phenyl radical which may be substituted by halogen and/or alkyl. They may be prepared by reacting dithiophosphonic acid O-alkyl esters with formaldehyde and mercaptans or by reacting salts of said acids with a -chloromethyl thioethers. The products are pesticides (see Group VI). Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 806,148.ALSO:Pesticidal compositions comprise a dithiophosphonic ester of formula <FORM:0894740/VI/1> where R and R1 are C1-4 alkyl, and R2 is C1-6 alkyl, cycloalkyl or a phenyl radical which may be substituted by halogen and/or alkyl, and a solid or liquid carrier. Other insecticides and/or fertilizers may be present. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 806,148.
