Abstract
The invention comprises thionophosphinic acid esters of formula <FORM:0879021/IV (b)/1> where Aryl stands for phenyl, chloro-substituted phenyl or alkyl-substituted phenyl, R is C1-4 alkyl and R1 is a C1-4 alkyl radical substituted by an alkyl-mercapto group or a carbalkoxy group. They are prepared by reacting an appropriate O-alkyl arylthiophosphonite with an appropriately substituted alkyl halide in the presence of an acid-binding agent. The products are pesticides (see Group VI).ALSO:Pesticidal compositions comprise a thionophosphinic acid ester of formula <FORM:0879021/VI/1> where Aryl stands for phenyl, chlorophenyl or alkylphenyl, R is C1-4 alkyl and R1 is a C1-4 alkyl radical substituted by an alkylmercapto group or a carbalkoxy group, together with a solid or liquid diluent or carrier.
