Abstract

894,501. Draught excluders. MOORE, F. T. D. April 24, 1959 [Jan. 24, 1958], .o. 2415/58. Class 20(3) A draught excluder comprises a strip of flexible "Polythene" (Registered Trade Mark) of U-section 1, 2, 3, Fig. 1, for engagement with clearance about the lower end of the door with the walls 2, 3 capable of contacting the opposed faces of the door D and a flexible sealing element such as blades or ribs 4, 5, or a layer of felt, sponge-rubber or polyurethane foam on the bottom of the channel to engage the floor. The strip may have resilient flanges 9, Fig. 3, which contact the floor when the channel is tilted as shown. The strip may be scored or grooved at intervals for parting off suitable lengths for the door width. One wall of the channel may be replaced by at least two fingers or it may be apertured for lightness of weight.
