Abstract

894,030. Clutch control; clutch-brake combinations. GROSSDREHMASCHINENBAU & MAI VEB. Dec. 8, 1960, No. 42263/60. Class 80 (2). A multi-disc clutch-brake unit for a lathe is hydraulically operated by an actuator consisting of a piston 4 rigidly secured to the gearbox housing 6<SP>1</SP> and carrying a moving cylinder 3 which engages a shift sleeve 14 and houses a manually-operated valve 11 for controlling the supply of pressure liquid from a pump 2. The brake 23 is engaged by moving cylinder 3 and sleeve 14 to the left from the neutral position shown, while the clutch 20 is engaged by moving them to the right, the sleeve 14 passing over the cam-shaped ends 7<SP>1</SP> of engaging levers 17.
