Abstract
A transmission device for planetary gear drive, of the kind described, provided with a retarder member such that, when the pressure fluid operated member is activated to move the axially displaceable clutch member to engage said second ratio, it moves to a position in which it will oppose the return movement of the axially displaceable clutch member to engage said second relation, it moves to a position in which the return movement of the axially displaceable clutch member will be opposed to engage said first ratio of transmission, the retarder member being arranged so that, when the medium maneuvered by the fluid under pressure is not activated, its maneuvering fluid escapes through a restrictor which causes the retarder member to delay the clutch of said first relation.
