893,137. Insulators. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. July 17, 1959 [July 18, 1958], No. 24732/59. Class 36. A cast-resin actuating member, for transmitting the operating force to the movable switch contact member of a high-voltage switch, is in the form of a rod with annular grooves 2 separated by ribs 1, the base of each groove being rectilinear in axial cross-section, and the two side flanks of each rib being mutually inclined at an angle alpha not exceeding 30 degrees, the tip of each rib and the root where a rib joins a groove being rounded with a radius not exceeding 2 mm. The ratio of rib diameter D to groove diameter d preferably lies between 1.4 and 1.8. The groove length a may be from 0.5 to 1.5 of the length of the rib flank b. The ends of the member may be flattened and drilled, or may be enlarged and provided with tapped holes (Fig. 3, not shown) for the connection of fittings for either axial or rotational movement.
