Abstract

892,518. Dispensing liquids. BARRY, D., and JEFFERY, C. J. Jan. 16, 1961 [Oct. 24, 1959], No. 36091/59. Class 116. Excess froth on beer dispensed into a drinking vessel 4 is removed by a suction device 10. The beer is discharged from a barrel 3, by a compressed air supply 8, through a nozzle 1 surrounded by a. circular conduit carrying a cone 9 into which excess troth rises. The conduit 10 is connected at its ends to two discharge pipes 13A containing air injectors 15 'operated by a connection 17 to the pressure pipe 8. Raising of a glass 4 for filling actuates a valve control member 21 which opens valves 19, 18, in the beer pipe 2 and air injector pipe 17 so that as beer is dispensed the air injectors set up suction in the conduit 10 whereby excess froth is drawn off through holes 11 and returned to the drip tray 6.
