Abstract

892,245. Drawing-board typewriters. INDUSTRIELLE TECHNIK GES. FUR. June 10, 1960 [Oct. 26, 1959], No. 20483/60. Class 100(4) A typewriter 17 is mounted at the end of a rack 15 which is moved for letter-spacing by an escapement mechanism arranged in an adjustable head 11. The head 11 may be angularly adjusted on a slide head 7 adjustable on a vertical guide rail 6,itself adjustable horizontally on arail 3. Alternatively the head 11 may be adjustably mounted on pairs of parallel levers (see Fig. 4 not shown). When a key-lever 39 is depressed a universal bail 38 rocks, moves a Bowden cable which operates the escapement mechanism, and the rack 11 is drawn to the left by a draw wire 21 and spring drum 20. The escapement mechanism comprises two pawls alternately engaging the rack and are mounted on a rocker 26.
