Abstract
891,899. Capacitors. JOHNSON, MATTHEY & CO. Ltd. March 14, 1961 [Jan. 1, 1960], No. 94/61. Drawings to Specification. Class 37. A thin high capacity capacitor is given mechanical strength by mounting the electrodes and dielectric coatings on a support or base of mica. The mica base is coated first, on one or both sides, with platinum, palladium, gold or silver, &c., followed by a thin film of a low-firing dielectric such as a ceramic-glass mixture capable of vitrification at a maximum temperature of 650‹ C., after which a further layer of metal forming the other electrode is applied. The metal and dielectric coatings may be applied by the silk-screen printing method. The ceramic constituent of the dielectric consists of barium titanate, barium bismuth titanate and/or barium antimony titanate.
