Abstract
890,939. Aerials. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON-HOUSTON. Dec. 22, 1960 [Dec. 24, 1959], No. 44079/60. Class 40(7). An aerial comprises at least two horn radial tors which partially overlap and have a portion of their adjacent side faces formed by a flap common to both horns and movable to be in line with the remaining parts of said side faces of either horn. In a first embodiment, Fig. 2a, the axes of the horns 2, 3 are parallel. A flap 8 is hinged and is positioned at P1, when horn 2 radiates, or at P2, when horn 3 radiates. Flap 8 may have an H crosssection, the sides of the H then acting as chokes so that the flap need not touch the walls of the horns. The horn axes may meet at an angle and the horns need not be rectangular, Figs. 3, 4a and 4b, (all not shown). An array of several horns in association with a reflector is described, Fig. 5 (not shown).
