859,853. Aerials. WOLSEY ELECTRONICS Ltd., [formerly WOLSEY TELEVISION Ltd.]. May 28, 1958 [July 19, 1957], No. 22946/57. Class 40(7). A dual band high frequency aerial comprises two V-shaped elements connected together at one of their ends by an impedance and at the other by feeder means, together with matching means if necessary, to form a rhombic aerial. The apices of the elements are spaced a half wave-length at a frequency in the lower frequency band and the spacing between the connections is greater than a quarter wave-length at this frequency. The aerial acts as a folded dipole at the lower frequency and as a rhombic aerial in the higher frequency band, where it exhibits a wide band-width. The aerial is slightly directional in the plane containing the elements but reflectors and directors may be added, and these may form part of the feeder junction unit and impedance unit.
