Abstract

889,257. Tubular heat exchangers. LAWRENCE HOLDINGS (OVERSEAS) Ltd. June 3, 1960 [June 5, 1959], No. 19254/59. Class 64(3) In a tubular heat exchanger, primary heat transfer tubes 1 are separated from one another by a plurality of perforated secondary heat transfer tubes 2 which are parallel to the tubes 1 and in line contact therewith. The perforated tubes 2 which may be of woven construction, preferably have a diameter approximately one third that of the tubes 1. In the arrangement shown each of the tubes 1 is surrounded by six regularly spaced perforated tubes 2.
