Abstract
889,213. Mattress handles. ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS. Sept. 30, 1958 [Sept. 30, 1957], No. 31233/58. Class 52(4) A handle for a box spring mattress unit consists of a member 12 of nylon having a handle portion 16 and flanges 23, 34 on end portions 18, 20 which are connected by a metal clip 14 secured to the box spring by a screw. In a modification Fig. 8 the handle is moulded in a looped condition, end portions 18a 20a being joined by a flange over which fits a clip 14a having prongs 70, 72 which are embedded in the box spring unit to prevent pivoting about the screw. In a further modification Fig. 12, a clip 14b has tabs 76, 78 to embrace the end sections of initially straight handle member 16b as well as prongs 70b, 72b.
