889,109. Collars and cuffs. LENZ, R. May 10, 1958, No. 15055/58. Class 141 [Also in Group VIII] A collar or cuff is made by cutting out a layer of facing material, cutting out an insert of material bearing powdered low-pressure polyethylene, joining the two layers by heat and pressure (see Group VIII), sewing up where necessary and turning inside-out so that the insert and seams are on the inside. As shown in a collar (Fig. 1) facing material 1 and insert 2 are cut out, superposed, and bonded by heat and pressure. The side portions are then folded over along the front edges 6 and sewn together along the seam 5. A further hem 7 is provided (Fig. 2). The upper collar is then turned inside-out (Fig. 3, not shown), and may then be sewn to a lower collar (Fig. 4, not shown) which may be made by a similar method.
