Abstract
888,757. Wigs. Le MOLE, G. M. Sept. 2, 1959, No. 29933/59. Class 131 A wig comprises hairs 25 knotted to loops of a net 13 which have been pulled through a plastic coating 15 applied to the outer surface of the net, the knots being then retracted beneath the surface of the outer covering of plastic by the elasticity of the net fibres, and an inner coating 29 of plastic applied to the net to secure the knots and provide a smooth inner surface. The net 13, of cotton or nylon, is secured by adhesive tape 14 to an aluminium or copper mould 10, formed to the shape of the head, and painted or sprayed with plastic to build up the external coating 15 which is cured by the external or internal application of heat to the mould. Individual loops 23 of the net are drawn through the coating 15 by a hooked needle 19 and a hair 25 knotted to each loop. The inner coating of plastic is also applied by brushing or spraying and is heat cured on the mould.
