888,301. Packaging. HESSER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G., FR. July 6, 1960 [July 22, 1959], No. 23625/60. Class 94(1). Bags formed on an intermittently rotating mandrel wheel 2 are transferred to a continuously moving endless conveyer 7 where they are filled and closed. As shown a supply reel 3 supplies material for the formation of an inner bag, and a stack of blanks 4 the material for an outer carton, all fabricated on the mandrel wheel 2 by tools on the wheel. A transfer device 5 erects the bag packages and feeds them on to a continuously moving conveyer 7 having impelling elements 6. A filling device 10, turning concentrically with a first reversing wheel 8, fills each bag package with a specific quantity of liquid and a closing device 11, mounted concentrically in relation to a second reversing wheel 9, heat seals the inner bag. A closure device 12 then folds down flaps on the carton and cements them in position. A rotary disc transfers the completed packages to a delivery belt 14, or the completed packages may continue on from the device 12 to a conveyer belt passing below the transfer device 5.
