Abstract
888,156. Magnetic storage apparatus. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Nov. 20, 1959 [Nov. 27, 1958], No. 38301/58. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (9). In a magnetic core matrix in which the storage cores are located in apertured recesses in an insulating board and are threaded by row and column conductors, all the cores are threaded by an output and by an inhibit conductor each of which is formed by a number of wires connected in series by printed interconnecting strips, each wire being associated with a different group of cores. All the conductors are terminated at further strips printed on the board. The cores may comprise ferrite toroids which are secured in the recesses by lacquer prior to the threading operations. Auxiliary apertures are provided in the board for the purpose of passing conductors from one face to the other without passing through the cores. It is stated that the cores may alternatively be formed by multi-apertured ferrite plates.
