An oil-wetted air filter pack comprises several convolutions of metal gauzecovered coir web 3 supported by a central perforated cylinder 1 and enclosed by a cylindrical tube of filter fabric 4 e.g., twisted ribbon wire having air passages 5 such as to provide repeated deflection of the incoming air ; opposite ends of the cylindrical filter element so formed being covered by an annular disc 8 and a circular disc 7. The perforated cylinder 1 consists of wire mesh connected by metal strips 6 to the end caps 7, 8.
