Abstract

In the type of solar still which comprises an outer, transparent, inflatable, waterproof, shell 1 surrounding and spaced from an absorbent fabric bag 2, together with a salt water feed <PICT:0887949/III/1> reservoir 5 provided with a drip feed nozzle 6, the reservoir is provided with an air duct communicating with the interior of the shell, the air duct comprising a tube 11 which is provided with a shut-off valve 13 and which is connected to an axial passage 9 in the reservoir stopper 7. A non-return valve 10 is provided at the base of the passage 9. In a modification, the tube 11a (broken lines) with shut-off valve 14 is connected directly to the upper part of the reservoir 5, a solid stopper being provided in this case.
