A pump piston comprises a metal cone 1 having a central enlargement 4 comprising a collar 5 surrounded by a medial radial flange 6, said collar including a radially outer T-section portion formed by axial arms 8 and a radial leg 9, and opposed packing sleeves 12 of rubber &c., each comprising a flared lip 14 and a body portion 13 bonded to the core at each side of the collar 5 and flange 6.
