[Also in Group XXVI] In a vacuum brake cylinder comprising a piston 10 movable in a cylinder 5 within an outer casing 1, the piston is sealed by a flexible sleeve 25 secured at one end to the piston and at the other to the cylinder wall 6 by constricting bands 31 which may be of metal and of C-section as shown. The ends of the sleeve are formed with beads 30 and are secured in grooves 27 and 29 in the cylinder wall and in the piston respectively.
