Abstract
886,837. Supply fittings for water-wastepreventers and like tanks. HAMMERSLEY, S. Aug. 16, 1960 [Aug. 20, 1959], No. 28431/59. Class 26. A float and float-lever assembly for actuating the valve mechanism of a water-waste-preventing cistern comprises an adjustable connection between the float 1 and float lever 3 permitting adjustment of the float 1 by rotation about an axis through an angle of up to 180 degrees to raise or lower the float 1 in relation to the lever 1 in the cistern. The float 1 may be releasably locked when adjusted. It may be adjustable about an axis of a boss 2, Fig. 4, inclined to a radial plane through it and the float 1, the float lever 3 having a screw threaded end for engaging the boss 2, and a locking 5 may be on the screwthreaded end of the lever 3. In an alternative form, Fig. 1, a connecting member 4 has an internal screw-thread at one end to engage the end of the lever 3, having a nut 5 for locking, and an inclined screw-threaded portion 6 at its other end to screw into a boss 2 on the float 1. In a further alternative the boss 2 is radial to the float, being formed internally with a skew thread, and the end of the lever 3 is engaged directly therein, with or without the use of a lock-nut, or a member 4 having a threaded axial projection to engage the skew thread is fitted on said lever end, to which a lock-nut 5 locks the member 4.
