Abstract
867,812. Float-actuated valves. BIGINELLI, P. April 17, 1959 [July 17, 1958], No. 13181/59. Class 135. A float-actuated cistern supply valve comprising a tubular cock body 1, Fig. 2, externally threaded to receive cistern attachment nuts 5 and a nut 4 for the attachment of a water supply pipe 3 includes a resilient valve closure element 6 having a boss portion 12 engageable with a cock body seating la, a tubular portion 14 slidable in a bore in the cock body and a downwardly directed tubular discharge portion 13. A screw 8 engaging a metal disc 7 carried by the closure element is adjustable with respect to a pivoted lever 2 carrying the float arm 11 to adjust the water level in the cistern. The screw 8 may be screwed inwardly into the lever 2 to lock the closure element 6 in its closed position with the float in its lowered position in the cistern, rendering the fitting of a stop-cock in the supply pipe unnecessary. In a modification, the screw 8 is dispensed with and the screwthreaded end of 11<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 4, the float arm 11 is adjustable with respect to the lever 2<SP>1</SP> to adjust the water levels.
