Class 120(1) An opening machine in which a conveyer S carries fibres towards closely-spaced saw-toothed cylinders C coacting at the back of a working chamber with doffer cylinders A that direct fibres into suction flues F is provided with a sensitive diaphragm P which responds to loss of suction in the flues to operate a switch to stop the conveyer S. Power to all motors associated with the machine may, if necessary, be cut off. The diaphragm chamber O may be connected by a tube M to the lowest flue F or to any flue, including flues G, K, or to duct L. Specification 748,640 is referred to.
