Abstract

A carding engine has a plate which extends over the region of a doffer comb, is pivoted to a cover of the main cylinder, forms the bottom wall of a suction chamber, and has a slot through which dust and fly liberated by the comb may be sucked into the chamber. The plate is supported by adjustable means. A flexible hose connects the chamber to ducting leading to a fan which may have a filter hose or a rotary filter.
