Abstract

885,725. Bidets; sinks; traps. LOFFLER, W. April 24, 1958 ,No. 12975/58. Classes 26 and 33. A sink unit has a second sink 2 located under a first sink or wash-hand basin, from which a waste pipe 6 extends into a waste pedestal 9 to form a bearing about which the sink 2 may swivel. The pedestal 9 may incorporate a trap and the sink 2 may be formed to be a waste water sink, Fig. 1, or a bidet, Fig. 4. The inlet opening of the pedestal 9 provides a cylindrical bearing for the waste pipe 6, a constriction being formed therein at 16. A gland 17 may act as a seal between the pedestal 9 and pipe 6 around which may be a bush 7 secured to the sink by a nut 8. The space between the sinks may permit a bucket 4 to be placed therein on a grid 3. In the bidet form a horizontal arm 22 fixed on a pin 20 engaging a cup 21 as shown provides additional support for the bidet sink 19 to which it is pivotally connected, and which has sliding plastic feet 23 or rollers, or balls, or swivels clear of the floor. In another embodiment, Fig. 3, a sleeve 11 rotatable around a cylindrical part 10 of the pedestal 9 has struts 12, 13, 14 which extend to provide cantilever support for the sink 2, and bears against a ring 15 threaded on the portion 10 for adjusting the basin 2.
