884,956. Electric steam generators. BAHCO A.B. Aug. 4, 1960 [Sept. 18, 1959], No. 27068/60. Class 39(3) An electrical steam bath apparatus comprises a container 1 accommodating stone material and surrounded by a jacket 3 concentric therewith, the jacket 3 and container 1 defining an air passage open at top and bottom, electrical heating elements 4 disposed in the air passage to heat air flowing through the said passage and a concentric housing 6 surrounding the jacket 3 and defining therewith a passage open at top and bottom through which air flows to cool the housing, the container 1 being provided, at least in the portion surrounding the heating elements, with a number of openings so that the stone material is heated by direct radiation of heat from the heating elements and also by the flow of hot air through the stone material. The jacket 3 has a perforated bottom and a polished heat reflecting inner surface and the housing has a perforated bowl shaped top through which water is poured on to the stones, the water being preheated by the hot air rising through the container 1. The hot air and steam from all parts flows through perforations 11 and rises through bowl 9. The container 1 has coarse mesh wire netting opposite the heating elements which are of helical form. Cooling air flows between openings 13 and 14 to cool the leads of the heating elements.
