Abstract
A gas mixture to be separated is heated and passed over a fixed bed absorbent which is maintained at 60 DEG to 92 DEG C., and subsequently desorbed with a desorbent having a temperature between 110 DEG and 150 DEG C. The preheating of the mixture can be by heat exchange with the separated vapour or with a desorption agent. A sharper separation is achieved in desorption by passing the desorbent in the same direction as the gas mixture.
