Abstract
884,724. Ice-making. OLDHAM, J. Dec. 3, 1958 [Nov. 12, 1957; May 29, 1958], Nos. 35242/57 and 17206/58. Class 29 A mould for use in making frozen confections comprises a tray having a flat base from which depend a plurality of individual and laterally spaced apart mould cells, with means permitting communication between the cells, the cells having side wall portions which project from the base into the tray and which are formed with openings permitting communication between the individual cells over the base of the tray so that when a volume of liquid preparation at least equal to the combined volume of the moulding cells is poured into the tray, the liquid rises to the same level in all of the cells. In the mould shown in Fig. 2, the cells 5 are secured to and depend from the base 2 of a tray 4, apertures 9 being formed in the wall portions 8 which project upwardly into the tray. These apertures 9 are so positioned that their lower edges are at, or just above, the level of the upper face of the bottom wall 2. The height of the projecting wall portions 8 is such that, during freezing of a liquid in the cells, it is prevented from overflowing laterally from the cells.
