Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0884667/IV (b)/1> wherein R1 is phenyl or benzyl, R2 is phenyl cycloalkyl, alkyl of at most 7 carbon atoms or hydrogen, R3 and R4 are alkyl radicals each containing at most 7 carbon atoms or, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, form a piperidino, morpholino, piperazino or pyrrolidino radical, n is 1, 2 or 3 and X is an anion bearing the charge m. They may be prepared by reacting chloramine or hydroxylamine-O-sulphonic acid with the appropriate tertiary amine, or by reaction of the disubstituted hydrazines H2NNR3R4 with compounds of the formula R1R2C(OH)CnH2nX, or by reaction of salts of the disubstituted hydrazines R3R4NNH2.HX with the appropriate mono- or di-substituted ethylene oxides. Anions may be exchanged by metathesis. Examples are given and an extensive list of suitable anions X is provided. Specifications 858,488, 884,669, and U.S.A. Specifications 2,678,258 and 2,710,248 are referred to.ALSO:Pharmaceutical compositions comprise a compound of the formula <FORM:0884667/VI/1> (wherein R1 is phenyl or benzyl, R2 is phenyl, cycloalkyl, alkyl of at most 7 carbon atoms or hydrogen, R3 and R4 are alkyl radicals each containing at most 7 carbon atoms, or, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are both attached, form a piperidino, morpholino, piperazino or pyrrolidino radical, n is 1, 2 or 3 and X is an anion bearing the charge m) in admixture with a solid or liquid pharmaceutical carrier.
