882,508. Refuse bins. BOWER LANE MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. April 11, 1960 [April 10, 1959], No. 12114/59. Class 26. [Also in Groups XVII and XXII] A refuse or like bin comprises an upright tubular or tapering sheet metal body a, the lower edge of which is beaded outwardly to a circular, or substantially circular section a<SP>1</SP>, and an inverted cup-shaped bottom b socketed into the lower opening of the body a and having an outwardly-directed flange b<SP>1</SP> turned back to lap around the bead a<SP>1</SP> and follow the outside of the body a upwardly to terminate adjacent the true bottom b, the three thicknesses of metal immediately above the double-thickness bead being spun or equivalently treated to form an outwardly-protruding bead c. Preferably the bottom b is a pressing and has a groove b<SP>2</SP> in the flange b<SP>1</SP> to register with the bead a<SP>1</SP> before turning back the flange b<SP>1</SP>. The bottom b may be grooved, corrugated or similarly-treated.
