Abstract

882,129. Lifting jacks; handling load containers. BLANC, H. June 4, 1959, No. 19141/59. Classes 78 (3) and 78 (4). A device for raising containers, shelters or other loads, e.g. to facilitate loading and unloading lorry platforms, comprises a plurality of vertical columns 1 secured to the load P, a bracket 2 mounted on each column for vertical and slewing movements, a further bracket 3 hinged to each bracket 2 about a vertical axis 6, and a wheel carrying leg 4 movable axially in each bracket 3. The legs 4 are movable in brackets 3 by worm and rack gear 9, 10. Each castor 5 is provided with a spigot 5A which also fits a bore in the lower end of each column 1. Locking means (not shown) are provided to retain the parts of each device in their adjusted positions.
