Abstract

880,365. Transistor frequency changing circuits. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Aug. 5, 1959 [Sept. 4, 1958], No. 26704/59. Class 40(6). In a frequency changer, particularly for a radio receiver, the input signals are fed to the base of transistor 4, the local oscillator tuned circuit such as 44, 46 is connected to the emitter circuit, the intermediate frequency output is taken from the collector circuit and degenerative feedback at oscillator frequency is provided between the collector circuit and the base in order to minimise the variation of amplitude of output over the frequency band. Fig. 1 (not shown) relates to a similar arrangement using a permeability tuned oscillator coil in series with the collector circuit and regenerative oscillator feedback is taken from a tapping between two capacitors in parallel with the oscillator coil.
