Abstract
N-aminoalkyl-hydrazines are prepared by reacting an ester derived from an amino alcohol and a strong acid, or a salt of such an ester, with a hydrazine or with an agent which yields a hydrazine under the conditions of the reaction. The reaction is preferably conducted in the presence of inert solvents and acid-binding agents. Specified hydrazine reactants are hydrazine, methyl hydrazine, N,N1-bis-isopropyl hydrazine, cyclohexylhydrazine, phenylhydrazine, meta-chlorophenyl hydrazine, 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine, N-phenyl-N-methyl hydrazine, benzyl hydrazine and a -pyridylhydrazine. The amino group in the amino alcohol component may be free or completely or partially substituted by alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radicals, or may form part of a heterocyclic ring, as in piperidino, morpholino, thiamorpholino, or piperazino. Specified amino alcohol esters are b -diethylaminoethyl chloride hydrochloride, sulphuric acid-mono-(b -aminoethanol)-ester, a -dimethylamino-b -chlorethane and its hydrochloride, a -piperidino-b -tosyloxy-ethane and salts thereof, the a -diethylamino-2-propanol ester of methane-sulphonic acid, N,N1-bis-(b -bromethyl)-piperazine and salts thereof, and the inner ammonium salt of aminoethanol sulphuric acid ester. Specification 581,153 is referred to.
