A wrapping-machine comprises a rotatable carrier having end tucking means into which articles having each a wrapper applied to its leading and top and bottom sides is thrust, the carrier forming a pair of end tucks and rotating through 180 degrees, after which a conveyer removes the article from the carrier and forewards it through a folding channel. Articles 37 are fed by a conveyer 38 between plates 46, 47, each article taking with it a wrapper out from a web 20. The wrapper may be bowed by means 31, Fig. 17, to stiffen it and be guided by an air jet from a nozzle 29. The plate 46 may be heated to seal one end of the wrapper to the article and the plate 47 has a shaped wrapperengaging edge 49 to produce a smoother wrap. The conveyer thrusts each article into the carrier 50 where tucking members 61 fold in the wrapper ends at the leading face. The carrier rotates through 180 degrees, opposed rods 66 and a spring 67 wiping the tracking wrapper and against the article. Flights 71 on a conveyer 70 enter a mechial slot in the carrier to eject the article and force it past tuckers 76, upper and lower flap folders 77, 78 and end heat sealers. In an alternative embodiment, the carrier comprises two chambers, Fig. 11, whereby one is filled while the other is being discharged, The wrapped articles may pass between opposed belts travelling in front of heating or cooling bars, the belts being coated continuously with a release agent Figs. 9, 10, (not shown).
