Abstract
Pure p-ureidobenzenearsonic acid substantially free from arsanilic acid impurity is made by dissolving arsanilic acid in aqueous potassium cyanate in stoichiometric proportions at a temperature not higher than about 10 DEG C., adding hydrochloric acid to the mixture to bring the pH to below 2.7 while maintaining the temperature not higher than about 10 DEG C., filtering the precipitated p-ureidobenzenearsonic acid, water-washing and drying.
